Go Software Engineer - remote
We are looking for an experienced Golang (GO) Software Engineer to build new products and maintain/optimize existing solutions. As a software engineer at Securly, you will work within a small team of like-minded and talented engineers in a focused, no bureaucracy environment, striving to push the limits of our capabilities while delivering tremendous value to our customers.
This role primarily intends to develop novel microservices in the Filtering and EdTech space. These microservices will expose and consume REST APIs in a high-volume, high-load environment and must be highly scalable. In addition, some microservices may integrate with School Information Systems via OneRoster and utilize back-end database technologies like MySQL and Elastic Search.
Existing projects at Securly process around 1.2 petabits of web traffic daily. We use technologies and infrastructure written in C, C++, Python, PHP, and Cloudformation. Interested candidates will have the additional opportunity to work with these systems if they so desire.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate across the company to define, design, build and improve various products.
• Design, develop and deliver microservices using the Go Programming Language.
• Conceive and provide new features and improvements in a fast-paced Agile environment as a part of a growing engineering team
• Develop capacity and monitoring plans for the services you write
• Opportunities to be involved in design and strategy for ops related to your projects
• This role is remote, with the US engineering headquarters based in San Jose, California

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years experience Designing, developing and delivering microservices using the Go Programming Language.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs
• Experience working with relational and document-store back-end databases
